The Count Pin

The Count series is Part 1 in our Negroni Week capsule and captures the lore behind the Negroni. Legend has it, on a visit to Caffe Cassoni, Count Camillo Negroni asked his friend and bartender, Fosco Scarselli, to hide his Gin in the Americano and thus, the Negroni was born!

According to the House of Negroni, “It is alleged that Count Camillo was not only a man of means and influence, but was well travelled and enjoyed the tastes, pleasures and adventures of life. The Count frequently travelled between the England and the Americas where he picked up a taste for strong liquor while working as a rodeo clown in the then American Wild West.”

We can’t help but believe that there was something even more to the Count…
