While Nick Blackstone‘s area in Louisiana should not be too heavily impacted, after facing a Category 4 Hurricane, he decided I’d do a bit of a riff. This drink added some syrups and ingredients that he do not normally use a ton – but, when the power goes out are his first options in order to save them from spoiling.

Ingredients

 

• 1 oz Lemon Juice
• 1⁄4 oz Cinnamon Syrup
• 1⁄4 oz Velvet Falernum
• 1⁄4 oz Fassionola syrup Cocktail and Son's or passionfruit syrup if necessary
• 1⁄4 oz Allspice Syrup
• 2 oz Demerara Rum El Derado 5 year

Garnish

• Umbrella Hurricane style
• Cherry optional

Instructions

 

• Add all ingredients to a shaker.
• Fill with pebble ice.
• Shake.
• Pour unstrained into glass.
• Fill with pebble ice.
• Garnish.
• Enjoy!
