This is PKNY’s version of the painkiller cocktail (beep out the name) the bar was originally called “painkiller” but had to change its name after they were sued by Pusser’s Rum for not using Pussers Rum in their painkiller recipe.
Even though the original cocktail was made with Cruzan Dark Rum and even though Pusser’s obtained the copywrite in the name a decade after its creation, they won their lawsuit so YouTube bartenders beware! Use Pussers in a painkiller or feel the company’s wrath!
The original was created by Daphne Henderson at the Soggy Dollar Bar on the island of Jost Van Dyke in the British Virgin Islands. The name of the bar comes from the way each person has to get to the bar by wading into waist-deep water.
