Siren of the Fjords was created by Robert Simpson, bar manager at the Clove Club in London. He named this cocktail after Norwegian-American actress Sigrid Gurie who was discovered by Samuel Goldwyn in the 1930’s. Samuel billed her has “The New Garbo” and “The Siren Of The Fjords.”
Fittingly this drinks stars Linie Aquavit a Norwegian Aquavit famous for it’s aging process which is done on a ship.
