I am a home mixologist with no formal training whatsoever. I live in Brooklyn and have always been good at making cocktails. When I’d go to a restaurant and would like a drink, I’d take a picture of the menu and try to replicate it at home. At the beginning of the pandemic, I started watching your channel. You have taught me so much about technique and exposed me to different types of spirits. I’ve probably watched almost every video on your channel. Watching your stuff (and specifically the video on creating your own cocktails) has inspired me to create my own cocktails. I have a google docs with name ideas and another with cocktail recipes for quick reference (many I’ve seen on your channel). Some of your more recent viewer submitted cocktails has made me want to send in my own which I will now be doing. One of the spirits you exposed me to was Banana Liqueur. I bought a bottle in January and have been experimenting with it. I’ve also become a big tiki fan so I wanted to create a banana rum drink. Hope you have the chance to make it.
