One of my favorite dishes to cook uses peanuts and serrano peppers. The combination of spice and sweet nutty flavors works so well in the dish, I wanted to see if the combination translated well to cocktails. I was pleased with the result!!
Ingredients
- 1 oz Screwball peanut butter whiskey
- 1 oz Bulleit Bourbon
- 1/2 tsp Honey Syrup
- 2 Angostura Bitters
- 1-2 dashes Hella Bitters: Smoked Chili bitters depending on how spicy you want it; 2 was plenty for me
- 2 Serrano peppers
Instructions
- Slice up one serrano pepper into chunks, removing any seeds.
- Add cut up serrano pepper, honey syrup, and bitters to mixing glass.
- Muddle pepper into syrup and bitters to release flavor.
- Add Screwball and bourbon whiskies.
- Add ice to mixing glass.
- Stir until properly chilled.
- Add large ice cube to and old fashioned glass.
- Double strain into old fashioned glass.
- Garnish with the other serrano pepper.
- Enjoy!
