The Red Hook was created by Italian Bartender Vincenzo Errico at Milk & Honey in New York City around 2003. This is Errico’s own entry into the realm of Manhattan riffs named for Brooklyn neighborhoods. This one subbing in Punt e Mes a vermouth amaro hybrid and maraschino for sweet vermouth. Errico now co-owns a bar on the island of Ischia called Le Arte Fatto which I was fortunate enough to travel to and it’s amazing so if you find yourself there, you know where to drink!
Instructions
- Add all ingredients in a mixing glass.
- Add ice.
- Stir.
- In a chilled coupe, add garnish.
- Double strain cocktail to the chilled coupe.
- Enjoy!
