This is still arguably a Last Word Variation even though not as literal as some constructions. The drink is still playing with the same ideas as the original and of course, shares the same build. This is arguably bartender Sam Ross’ most famous drink.
Originally constructed for the Violet Hour in Chicago’s opening menu, it was simultaneously made at Milk & Honey where Ross was working that the time. Although the story goes that it took its name from the MIA song that was popular at the time, it was originally listed as the Paper Airplane on the Violet Hour Menu. On our recentish trip to Chicago, we stopped in at the Violet Hour and had some great drinks. The bartenders were great and the experience was top-notch so highly recommend a visit.
