Much has been made of First Build’s counter top pebble ice machine and if you have been watching this channel for any length of time you’ll know that I’m more than a little obsessed with pebble ice for cocktails. Quality pebble ice is a pain in the ass for home bartenders and we are relegated to seeking out an ice company that sells ice from a Scotsman Machine or going to Sonic to buy pebble ice in quantity and find a place to store it, often overwhelming the space in the freezer in the pursuit of great cocktails at home. But the Opal machine claims to end that problem with a counter top ice maker.
But is it worth it??? It also carries a relatively hefty price tag! If I spend the money will this end my problem??? Honestly if the machine works well, I’d be happy to fork out the 400-500 that this thing costs, it would be my favorite piece of equipment! So lets dive in and see if this thing does what it says it does shall we?
