This cocktail stemmed from being gifted a bottle of chai bitters from my dad. Straight away, I had a feeling that they would complement akvavit really well, started drafting some ideas at homeThe recipe below is the best outcome I’ve had. One of the first drafts I did had gin instead of vodka, but I didn’t think the gin came through much in the flavor profile, if at the name ‘Nordic Heather’ comes from the akvavit being the forefront of the cocktail, plus the heather honey that’s in Drambuie

Ingredients

 

OZML

• 1½ oz Akvavit
• ½ oz Drambuie
• ¾ oz Vodka
• ¼ oz Rich Simple Syrup
• 4 Drops Chai Bitters
• Absinthe Rinse

Instructions

 

• Rinse/mist Nick & Nora glass with absinthe.
• Stir rest of the ingredients.
• Strain into glass.
• Express lemon zest over the top.
