Mr. Bodi Hai

Mr. Bodi Hai was created by Los Angeles bartender and Tiki expert Nathan Hazard who is now the Real McCoy rum brand ambassador. It has also been published in New York Bartender/Cocktail Consultant Shannon Mustipher’s book Tiki: Modern Tropical Cocktails, which all of you should pick up and read, definitely one of my favorite cocktail books of the year (link is below). I got to sit down with Nathan at my bar pretty recently for a Rum tasting and history lesson and was so intrigued, I had to include his amazing cocktail on this channel. This drink was inspired by the Mr. Bali Hai cocktail (which we already did an episode on) which is one of my absolute favorites in the tiki cannon.

This one surprised me. I’m a big Mr. Bali Hai fan, as well as the Ohana Joe riff on it but was concerned that the Mr. Bodi Hai would have too much going on with the addition of banana liquor but It turned out delicious! The coffee disappears a bit in it but the nut and banana flavors really make the drink. I’ll definitely make this again!
