  • In the bottom of an old fashioned Glass add 1 cherry 1 half orange wheel sugar and bitters with a splash of soda and muddle carefully.
  • Then add bourbon and ice and stir until chilled and diluted.
  • Garnish with the remaining orange slice and cherry.
  • Enjoy!

  1. So this cocktail is awful UNLESS you do something I’ve seen the esteemed gentleman of educated barfly do in another cocktail. I build this in a mixing glass, use wedges rind down and gently muddle until the flesh is crushed. Then I give it a quick stir (about 15 seconds) with lots of ice to incorporate the ingredients with minimal dilution, then DOUBLE STRAIN into a rocks glass over a big rock. Tastes way better without all the fruit pulp floating in there. Also great with lemon, or both lemon and orange. I don’t garnish with citrus however as I feel the drink already has enough from all that muddling. A cherry instead is fine for presentation. At this point it may be a different cocktail all together but it was fun trying to fix this.
