Manila Sunset

One of our dear Reader, David Nerahoo from The Cocktail Edit wanted to create a cocktail to represent his wife’s country – The Philippines. When her wife visited last year, she brought him back a bottle of Calamansi Liqueur which is made and sold there as well as a bottle of Gin, from the GSM Premium Brand. Since both of these are made in the Philippines, he thought it would create the perfect balance of citrus and floral notes. He used his homemade hibiscus syrup which would enhance this particular gin’s floral notes and also added tiki bitters, to give this a bit of spice.

A dark red cocktail in a rocks glass with ice cubes, garnished with a lime wedge and a sprig of mint.
