Basically this is Cade Solivan‘s riff on another Fernet-forward cocktail, The Alligator, with added rum and pineapple juice and a general boost to flavor. Pleasant to look at, and even more pleasant to drink. It’s especially hard to get Fernet there in Iowa, so this is one of the special occasion treats there at their home bar.
Ingredients
- 1 oz Jamaica Rum aged
- 1 oz Fernet Branca
- 3/4 oz Lime Juice
- 1 oz Pineapple juice
- 3/4 oz Cinnamon syrup
Garnish
- Dehydrated Lime Wheel
- Orchid optional, if available
Instructions
- Add all ingredients into a mixing tin.
- Add ice.
- Double strain into chilled coupe.
- Garnish.
- Enjoy!
