Franklin Bearse

The Franklin Bearse was created by legendary bartender Misty Kalkofen for Brick and Mortar around 2012. She named it after a Cape Cod Rum runner who was killed by a shotgun blast in 1932 when six hijackers met him at a storage place he kept to try and steal his booze.

Franklin Bearse cocktail recipe

Ingredients

  • 2oz (60ml) Jamaica Rum (Smith & Cross)
  • 1/2oz (15ml) Yellow Chartreuse
  • 1/2oz (15ml) Orange Liqueur (Combier or Cointreau)
  • 1 dash Angostura Bitters

Garnish

  • Orange Peel

Directions

  1. Stir ingredients in a mixing glass.
  2. Strain over a large rock of ice in a rocks glass.
  3. Garnish.
  4. Enjoy!
