Formidable Dragon

The Formidable Dragon cocktail was created for a tiki tower event in 2015 at The Hukilau. It is named after a British Royal Navy Admiral who was the reason why the grog was invented. Admiral Edward Vernon decided to cut his sailor's rum ration by adding water because drunkenness in ships is too much and referred to it as a "formidable dragon".

Formidable Dragon cocktail recipe

Ingredients

  • 3/4oz (22ml) Lemon Juice
  • 3/4oz (22ml) Lime Juice
  • 3/4oz (22ml) Molasses Syrup
  • 1/2oz (15ml) Honey Syrup
  • 1/2oz (15ml) Angostura Amaro
  • 1 1/2oz (45ml) Aged Blended Jamaica Rum
  • 1oz (30ml) Dark Jamaica Rum
  • 1/4oz (7.5ml) Jamaica Rum
  • 1oz (30ml) Soda Water

Garnish

  • Mint Sprig
  • " target="_blank">Freeze Dried Lemon Wheel

Directions

  1. Add all ingredients in a mixer.
  2. Add agitator and pebble ice.
  3. Blend in high speed.
  4. Pour in a large glass.
  5. Garnish.
  6. Enjoy!
