This drink is so famous you’d think it was around a lot longer than it actually has. The Black Manhattan was created by San Francisco Bartender Todd Smith in 2005 who made the drink at another bar but brought it to the famous Bourbon & Branch. Maybe one of the most recognizable names in the SF bar Scene. It’s a simple construction, just sub out amaro for sweet vermouth. Add a few extra dashes of bitters for complexity. Boom!
