I wanted to make a cocktail themed after the trade between Newfoundland and the Caribbean. The A.V. Conrad was a schooner that traveled from Newfoundland to the Caribbean and to Europe as well. From Canada I use maple syrup, from Europe I use Amaro Montenegro, and most importantly from the Caribbean I use demarara rum (the rum Newfoundland would be getting at the time I think), limes, and Angostura bitters.
Ingredients
- 1½ oz. Aged Demarara Rum
- ½ oz. Amaro Montenegro
- ½ oz. Maple Syrup
- ¾ oz. Lime Juice
- 2 dashes Angostura Bitters
- Shake with Ice
- Coupe
- Lime Twist Expression + Garnish
Instructions
- Add first 5 ingredients into tin.
- Shake with ice.
- Serve in coupe.
- Express lime twist.
- Garnish with lime twist.
