A Cocktail which tastes like coffee but has no actual coffee in it!
The Coffee Cocktail is a misnomer. It doesn’t actually contain any coffee in it and yet tastes so much like coffee. It was first published in Jerry Thomas‘ 1862 edition of his Bartender’s Guide How to Mix Drinks. But the specs we’re doing are from the Nomad Hotel in New York City and the one’s used in Kara Newman‘s Book Night Cap: More than 40 recipes to close out any evening. Although we are doing a series making cocktails from her book, for my money these specs are the most balanced, sorry Jerry! Hope you enjoy this wonderful flip in the colder weather! I know I do!
